No need for a cags defeat

Someone posted on CF that if you turn the active handing off there wasn't any cags. I tried it today. With traction control and active handling off there was no cags. The light didn't even come on. In competition mode the cags was back.

Interesting, but after my recent misfortune I'd re-think that. Had my AH/TC been working, I would have had it on and I don't think I'd have wrecked my car. The beauty of that system IMO is not when you're racing, but rather when your driving normally, not expecting anything bad to happen. A CAGS disabler is cheap.... AH/TC can be priceless.

Maybe when you tried it, the car wasn't warm. Coolant temp has to be around 170 before CAGS will engage..

Ready to embrace the aging process, but I can't lift my arms.

or you were either light or heavy on the right pedal - it only engages through a band where they think you are under "moderate" acceleration. Shift early or late in the revs and you'll miss it.

i'm going the defeat route this winter - didn't think i was going to do it but I am really getting tired of it when i forget to hold it in first that extra second or two - where best to get one?
