Some of you might recall that Larry Webster was on here in April or May. He posted looking for stock 02 Z06. I put my name in the hat, and my car was used for their article. Well I just recieved the article in the mail on sat, and it is also online with some more pics and a video.
The only thing that was weird was during the article, was that the passenger side window didn't go down. It only happened that once during that day, never had it happen again. Also they wrote about the body control module that was fixed. It was actually the EBCM on the 1st Z I had a few years back.
But other then that, a pretty decent article. Although I can't agree that the NSX is more fun to drive then the Z. I finally have my 15 secs of fame, now it's time to mod it.
Another "weird" thing about that article is that it supposedly showcased cars that cost UNDER $25k. I suspect a stock '02 Z without too many miles and in excellent condition, probably should be a bit higher in resale value. I just sold my low mileage, stock '02 last month to a private party and got closer to 30k. Considering how depressed the economy has been, my old Z had a fairly decent resale value. (I'm sure glad I didn't trade it in on my new Z, or I would of got considerably less from a low blue book centric dealer.) I only hope my new Z06 holds up as well in resale value over the next several years, although it just may be a keeper this time around. Funny thing is I said the same thing about my previous Corvettes.
Congrats on your acknowledgement in a major mag. Larry Webster came on this site with lots of ideas, that seem to have been edited out of the article. And their highly subjective rating system, in addition to notable exclusions, add up to another lightly entertaining, but ultimately, disappointing article.

Why is it that every time an article is written about a vette, the seats always get ragged on. My dad has had multiple cadillacs and iv driven them all and i still find our seats to be more comfortable, and at 6'3 220(was 275) im not a small guy

Because they don't have anything else to rag about.

Well because the seats suck! They just don't compare to what's in an M3, STI, Porsche, etc. Chevy did such a great job on the C5 Z06, it's a shame they didn't put sportive seats on their sports car!

Actually, C5Z seats as much as anything were designed to be very light weight to keep overall vehicle weight down. They are much lighter than the standard power C5 seat with the pass-through backrest. The Z06 was designed to be trackable and hence weight was the enemy....

I thought it sucked. Full of misleading information, and ended with no conclusions. They're perhaps the most biased car rag on the market, and if you're informed on your particular marque, you realize just how much that's true. You want to see an accurate portrayal of ZO6 ownership, just watch the great video @ Jay Leno's Garage. (OK, there were a couple of small errors there too, but for the most part...)

It was awesome that he got his car on the cover of Car and Driver. The only thing I really remember from the article is the comment they made about the SRT10 and its round about 10mpg. Made me feel good that I can get a few more than that out of my truck
