OMG, I just got my car back from my wreck and I find my car cracked from a hit&run!!

WTF WTF WTF
After 35 days of not having it and all repaired, I go out to enjoy the friday night with friends. I went downtown and then over to Westheimer to eat (Chachi's). I stop at WalMart on the way back and these guys say my front licence cover is hanging. I'm thinging, what the hell?? I go look at the car to see its been hit and cracked. MY BRAND NEW BUMPER AND PAINT HAS BEEN HIT!!

I don't know what to say. I can't claim it, already just finished one claim for quite a bit of damage (my fault). I may just go back to the body shop and pay this one out of pocket entirely.

WHAT DO I DO??? Man, I am hurting bad.. no one deserves this.

Sometimes life sucks... I had my car keyed one month after buying it and then one day after I got it fixed I had a blowout on the freeway... Shortly after that she wouldn't start when I was racing at the track... I was at my wits end.. all of this in just a 3 month period of owning the car. I was beginning to think that a higher power did not want me to own the car. Still everytime I got in the car and drove it I felt great... This car is the shit and all of those bad things that happened could have happened just as easily while driving my honda civic. Anyway I guess that my point is just accept it and move on... enjoy the car and learn from your mistakes like where not to park the car. Things will get better. Hope this helps. Oh yeah... always remember that no matter how bad things seem they probably could be much worse!

Hard answer for a hard question, but the answer is right there in you statement. If you gonna use you car as a regular driver, stuff like this CAN happen. You took it to at least 3 different places, downtown, on a Friday night and took your chances. Walmart!!!
Just gotta park in that furniture store across the street

Joe

First, get an estimate from the body shop. Check out a few places so you know what your real-world cost will be. Then, just weigh your options.

If getting the front end fixed is going to cost you $1000 out of pocket, that's only double the standard deductable, right? Just save up.

Part of the worry, for me, is the unknown. Once you make that known you know what you are dealing with and can make plans to over come.

Kick it, boyyyyyyyyyyy!

Yea, I'm looking into a simper repair and pay out of pocket.
Been searching around for information, and it seems body shops can repair tears in the bumper.. what is everyone's opinion on that?

For that kind money, you may want to consider buying an aftermarket front fascia. LG Motorsports has a really nice one!

Firstly, where do you think this happened?

Go back and ask around and see if any body says they noticed anything? You park it in the mall?

Otherwise, yeah!... I guess back to the shop and fix it up.

Bad break.

Sorry.

Bill.

This isn't my first hit and run, so I know how futile it is to find the person who did it. Looking at it this morning (much less emotion) I wiggled some of the pieces back into place and its not that bad. I'm going to go buy a new license plate filler, get that painted and all I have left is a long crack.

When I got some time, I'll visit several body shops and see what they want to do with the crack. I know its fixable and hopefully won't be too expensive.

I wrote that post last night, and I'm feeling much better now.

Ask WalMart if they have a security camera focused on the lot and ask them to see who hit your car.

Hey.. that's the attitude.

Good show. A day makes a big difference. A little cooling off is just what the doctor ordered.

Move on. ENJOY that Z!

Remember you still own that wonderful car. That #$@#$-head who drove off... doesn't !!

Fix. repair, wax, polish... as good as new!!

(if that's all that happens to your car!!!... be thankful!)

Bill.

I accidentally rubbed my front end on the side last winter with my jeep at creeping speed. The crack was behind the the left turn signal assembly, about 3 inches long. The body shop guy said it could be fixed but he would not warranty it sin in cold weather is will be prone to cracking again. So I bought the front at GMPARTSDIRECT.COM and had it painted locally. Total for everything was around $550 I think. The paint for the urethane bumper dries very quickly (internal chemical cure instead of evaporation of the paint solvent)so it can be quickly placed on the car. Good luck. Mine made me mad becasue I only had myself and the snow to blame
