I have noticed that when I push my throttle, it seems to chirp or hum right when I feel the engine kick in. Is this normal? It sounds like it is activating some sort of relay or something. What is it? It's kind of annoying. Otherwise, everything else is great!

That's a new one. It might be like my "daylight-sensor-at-the-perfect-angle-to-flash-sunlight-in-my-eyes-at-every-bump" post....

Is it coming from the engine, or inside the cockpit by the pedal?

Here's more info:

cold or hot -- both
rpm range -- all
gear -- any

It seems to occur when the engine starts to accelerate. It doesn't matter what gear or RPM. I noticed this when I broke in my car and varied my speed from 40 to 55 repeatedly. Try it and you might hear the chirp when the pedal gets pressed.

I tried it, and I just got the whoop from the halltech, but I do recall before replacing my stock airbox this noise.

Have a friend stand in front of the car and listen near the airbox (don't run over said friend) and juice it slightly in neutral. I think the sound is the first gasp of air coming through those tiny holes in the airbox.

As a test, you could try removing the bottom of the airbox and repeating the test. Or just do what most of us do, replace the stock airbox... More power

I'll try it out, but it sounds like it is coming from under the dash, near the pedal. Thanks for your quick response!

HI there,
Sounds like the intake disturbance that is being caused by the fact that c5 does NOT used an IAC motor.
Turbulence behind the cavity results in the whistle tip in, or the like.
I would have you specialist confirm this.
Best to you, c4c5
