I have a question aimed mostly at you guys who use the Z06 as a daily driver.
How do you keep the door sill area clean, especially after the rain??? It is one thing for the car to be dirty, but the door sills drive me nuts. And on the EB it stands out pretty bad.
I have seen the extra door seals that are sold, but have been advised that the door has to extra clean when you attach it or they fall off.
Looking for a good fix if anyone has one.
chris

Clean it when it gets dirty. You know, it's how you get your dishes clean when they get dirty. Oh, and it's like how you sweep the floor when it gets dirty. They haven't yet perfected the self-cleaning car.
do the door seals work? The rubber strip that attaches to the bottom of the door. Do they keep the water out when you wash the car? Thinking of buying some, but haven't yet.
I drive my Z in the north west rain constantly. The door sill area gets really dirty on my EB as well. I just clean it when I wash the car. I would much rather be driving a dirty Z than looking at a clean one, which would be the only way to have a clean Z here.

Just clean the bottom of the door, and wipe it down with alcohol, prior to install, and you should be fine.

I wash mine regularly but use the gas station squeegie and paper towels in between sometimes. I also carry some armorall pull out cleanups in my cargo net for touch ups. Its kinda like when you know you have a booger hangin', you can make it through the day with it but you always feel better if you knock it down when you know one is there.

After I wash the car, the door sills are soaked. I used the same very wet towell that I use to wipe the car off and clean the door sills. I clean the bottom of the door the rear of the door opening, the rear of the door itself and the hinge area.

The aftermarket extra door seals from Ecklers and Mid America do not keep the the sill dry but they do prevent road grime, dirt and pebbles from entering. A must if you have SS sill guards also.
I'm sure they also add to the laminar flow on the side of the car and would help on the high banked turns of Daytona, they also aid in the speaker performance by keeping road noise out. HEHE
Yes guys, I know that I clean them when washing the car.
Jeesh!
I was looking to see if any of you had found a solution like the door seals that worked to just keep it out in the first place.
Thanks for the advice guys. keep it coming. If someone has a great idea please share, there are lots of people wanting to know (well, at least I do!!!!)
