The dash and door trim rattle and squeak, but with the road here it is better then the Porsche. Even with the shocks turned up.

Very happy with the fit and finish. I think the yellow is very forgiving, as far as finish goes.

I like my pait except for the swirls and line scratches on the deck lid and the hood in a few areas. Other than that fine..

BTW There is a small drip on the passager rear brake duct about 1inch long it is hardley seen unless you get on the ground and look for it like I did :-)

fittin' finish

I guess I'm pretty happy with the paint. Had enough vehicles over the years to know that Ford can't paint a car worth a damn yet they squeak and rattle a lot less. Had an '89 Formula 350 F-body that at the two-year mark shook, rattled, and rolled like an ironhead Sporty. But the paint sho'nuff looked good on it.

I am no show-car guy (but I agree that the panel fitment coulda/shoulda been tweaked some) but I think it's a pretty nice-looking package. I did have to polish out some scratches but don't know if they were courtesy of the dealer (I'm guessing) or the factory.

With some Mother's hand-glaze and their pure carnauba paste wax, it's looking mighty fine. Let's hope it holds up.

Has anyone tried Mother's Reflections polish? Or the clay bar? I have used Mother's for almost twenty years and am real happy with their stuff but I can't find a local shop to carry Reflections.

Interior does squeak some and rattle a bit over big choppy bumps but not generally. Then again I've only had it for a month and 2,300 miles. I guess that's what the stereo's for. YMMV.

Wanted silver but wound up with blue.

Ride on.

Not bad for an American made car. All panels line up OK. Except for the exhast rattle, the interior is pretty quiet, especially since I put in a partition.

If you want to talk about quality paint just look at the new audies
no orange peel and body panels smooth as glass

OK now
i have a black 02 zo6...do they all have swirl marks?
did the dumb dealers put them in or did the factory install the swirl marks ..i finally go rid of them with multiple coats of z-5.

And finally , corvette has never been known for fit and finish like a mercedes or porshe...but as corvettes go ..the c-5 is the best quality corvette ever

My EB is pretty good. Didn't notice any swirls or orange peel when I picked her up. And with multiple coats of Zaino, she still doesn't!

At over 10,000 miles, I can find no fault with fit and finish.

It continues to amaze me that some people, at least those who don't have oil burners et.cetera, complain about the Z06. The car runs mid twelves from the factory, has all the creature comforts you need and still gets 30 miles to the gallon on the highway. Cars that cost two and three times as much rattle and have fit and finish problems. Maybe I'm just lucky but my Z doesn't rattle or have fit and finish "problems". The car is not perfect by a long shot. However, I still don't think you can beat this car's overall performance, which includes the whole "corvette experience" that you obviousy can't get with any other car, for the price.

Well, it amazes me that some people with computer skills sufficient to get here still cant read. The poster clearly said this has nothing to do with performance. In other words performance has zero weight.

But guys insist on using the bank for the buck arguement to defend poor workmanship or materials.

I had a cheaper WS6, and it has less cosmetic flaws than my Z does. My 2001 Tahoe's fit & finsh is Superb. Those are cheaper vehicles, made by the same maker, so what gives?

Excuses??? That's right....none.

Am I a bit unhappy? Well I have had this car for less than a week and it already has its first appointment for warranty work, so that's a no brainer.

The headliner doesnt fit correctly and you can see the padding from out the back window. It should not have left the factory with that kind of very very obvious flaw.

There is a run on the left rear fender. There is a piece of crap that was shot into the paint on the trunklid. Not bad, but on a flagship car its unexpected. But typical of American workmanship.

It has some rattle in the transmission that isnt the throw out bearing and even they think sounds bad. But I wont go into that since it not fit or finish related.

I hope to get to where I am jazzed to have it, but at this point, I rate it mediocre at best and that is only because it does do all those other things. Or else I would say poor. How much they had to pay JD Power for that initial quality title is what I want to know. It a slight dissappointment for 50K at this point.

Ask me next week, I hope it'll be all hugs and kisses

This car is tight. All my memories of riding in Vettes in high school..... nothing but a bucket of bolts. Not this thing! It is Rock solid and not a rattle to be heard. The fit on the body parts is par with my past experience with all GM cars. The paint literally Sucks. I went through 2 Black ones from the Dealer because the paint was so friggin' screwed up. Finally, I gave in and demanded a Yellow one.

I have to say, it aint a Lexus. I have owned 3 of them, all Black. And the fit/ finish on those cars is nothing less than Perfect! Absolutely NO Orange Peel. And the 3 Lexi I owned all cost less than this baby.

But, not one of those Lexi ........gave me half the Woody this thing does!!!!!

The fit on my '01 was great but on my'02 the trunk lid is slightly higher on the driver's side. Not too noticeable except to me but it would be nice to have it fit better. The finish on both cars is fine. Not exceptional but satisfactory. All in all, the car is put together MUCH better than anything else I've ever owned.

Great Car..I love it..I sort of wish the tactile feel of the steering wheel was better..maybe a better quality of interior materials ..that we as drivers touch..or use..

I like the interior..just thinking maybe down the road I may mod it a bit if I get the calling..The dash is cool..they designed it functionally very well.

The fit and finish outside the car..is just OK...the panel gaps around the headlights and bumpers seem off a bit..

Of course I'm nitpicking..I don't give a rats @ss about any of this..

the car rock and rolls but since you asked..

I 'd give my opinion..

I'm a little disappointed in the paint and the trim around the windows . Some of the interior pieces are pretty cheap and the stereo sux. The car is quiet as far as rattles and vibration and the engine sounds great so who cares about the sound system. Overall I am pretty pleased with the fit and finish but after riding in Japanese cars at half the price I can't rate it higher than average.
