A really fun run with a well prepped Camaro SS

Friday on the way home from work a pretty serious looking and sounding Camaro SS wanted to run. We were on an asphalt 4 lane which is usually pretty slick. I put the Z in comp mode and gave him the move on a 30mph roll. I only pulled him a couple of feet in first and when I hit second the car pulled power do to wheel hop, but still pulled him a length. Got a clean shift to third at 6000 rpm and no hop or spin and jumped three car lenghts and shut down. The guy in the camaro was used to eating LS1s and this was his first run against an LS6. He was very complimentary of the Z. His Camaro ran extremely well, he said most of his mods were bolt ons. Probably a low 13 high 12 camaro. He seemed to hook up better than I did. It was fun and I felt pretty lucky to get the kill on a squirrely surface. LOL

Man, I wish I could get a kill. 20 months, and not a single kill yet.

Had a dude with an M3 follow me for about 3 miles last Saturday, then he did a blow by and turned off. My day will come!!

The kills are hard to come by. Not many folks want to play.

Ya. I hear ya most people on the Cape are more "all about the looks" and could care less about performance

I could get a kill almost everyday I'm out there if I wanted to run one of those little econboxes with the big fart pipe sticking out the back.

As many of you know, and seen the video I raced my buddy in his 2000 WS6. Do not get in your mind that they are easy kills because they are not. He pulled me almost a car length in 2nd, and 3rd. When I hit 4th, I passed him around 125mph where we shut down. But they are very very powerful cars. I would love to have a WS6 trans-am.

I never assume that an Fbod is going to be a kill.
We've got some really fast ones in Houston. I used to drive a Vette killing rusttang . SSpray, on the bottle or natural?

The 0-60 times on a Z06 vs. a WS6 are not that close, are they? I am sure that the WS6 is slower 0-60 stock for stock in the mags. I am not doubting you Andy, I just don't understand how he could pull you if you are both stock. Any insights?

- Charley

when I still had my 00 C5 conv lots of people wanted to run me but now it hardly happens in the Z(once a month) I am almost tempted to remove the badges and brake duct and have the sleeper look so I can start killing again.
