Replacing lug nuts???

I want to replace my lug nuts (actually my car's lug nuts).

Can I go to any auto parts store or do I need something special? What do I look for?

Can I buy a locking style that is better than OEM or should I go without a locking lug nut?

Thanks,

You can pick up reasonably priced generic chrome plated lug nuts at Auto Zone, Advance, Pep Boys etc. Make sure the taper and reach are correct.

McGard makes the OEM and aftermarket locks and keyed lugs.

McGard also makes a real slick alternative called "Spline Drive" lugs which are lighter stronger and have a larger mating surface. These can also be color coded for a certain blinbbling effect. They look good and in fact act as an anti theft device because you need a Spline Drive socket to remove them

Me too I hate the OEM's. I don't care whether they are locking or not. But, I hate that outer cover crap on the OEM's. They stick in the impact sockets.

Glad GM got rid of them for my 03 Z06.

I've got the Gorilla locking lugs on all 4 wheels, as well as their regular lugs. The locks were about $20/set of 4, and the lugs were a buck apiece at my local America's Tire. Sure beats those tin-capped stock lugs...
