You "Old timers," remember that song? (minus the Corvette) I usually just joy ride with my Z with no particular place to go, but the most enjoyment that I get with it, is when I take a nice long road trip. I went to Indy a few weeks ago and am planning on going to Bowling Green KY for the Z06 Fest in September. So, where are you going?

Sure,carzzy.....see the USA in your "new" (note front license plate in commercial) 1963,etc Impala.....they sponsored Bonanza back them...was 8:00 Tues night family viewing. The days when people dropped everything at 5:30 or so and actually ate dinner together as a family...and talked to each other about how their day went. I sure miss that..even tho at the time(being a kid),I thought it would be "advanced" to be able to watch TV and eat dinner without being bothered by other family members....At 49,I think those "old" ideas are where it's at,today. Can you imagine what kids today would say to being made to sit down at a table and eat and talk with their parents and siblings??? Total outrage....Oh well.....I'm done rambling....
Cvette,
Yeah, Your the same age as me. Those were the "Good Old Days." I remember seeing the '63 Corvette Stingray Coupe debuting on Bonanza in 1962. I was 9 years old and was astonished by it.
Last weekend we went with The Santa Clarita Corvette Club to Kernville on the Kern River for 3 days.....about 35 miles from The Sequoia Nat'l Forest. Saw the giant Redwood Trees and rafted on River. Great roads for Vette lovers!!
Next weekend is The Big Bear Bash, the largest meeting of Corvettes on The Left Coast.
On June 29, it's Drag Racing. The West Coast Corvettes Challenge is gonna be at The California Speedway in Fontana. About 50 miles east of The City of Angels. I hope to get kicked off the track for venturing into the 11's (No Rollbar yet.....).
I'm into collecting old paper stuff and one of the cool things I have is a promotional booklet and really large matching poster. It was a dealer item with Dinah Shore on it and one of the early Corvettes. The poster is so large it won't fit safely in the trunk of the Eldorado, even folded up. Seeing this string reminded me of it, I have to get it out and "re-look" at it. Thanks.
Take care,
Dan

Dinah Shore sang that song at the end of her show and then threw a big kiss at the camera.....MMMMMMMMUH!!!
Besides outings in Minnesota my Z06 is going to Lake Elkhardt, Wisconsin for the LeMans races the 4th of July week-end, to the Spearfish, S.D. gathering later that month, Lake Okoboji, Iowa for that club's annual week-end extravaganza in August and, of course, to the Z06 gathering in Bowling Green in September.

Remember it... I certainly do:
See the USA in your Chevrolet
America is asking you to call
Drive your Chevrolet through the USA
America's the greatest land of all
On a highway, or a road, along the levy
Performance is sweeter, nothing can beat her
Life is completer in a Chevy
So make a date today to see the USA
And see it in your Chevrolet
See the USA in your Chevrolet
America is asking you to call
Drive your Chevrolet through the USA
America's the greatest land of all
On a highway, or a road, along the levy
Performance is sweeter, nothing can beat her
Life is completer in a Chevy
So make a date today to see the USA
And see it in your Chevrolet
Thanks fastdog!
Now you got me trying to sing it!
