Side brake vents painted?

My '02 black Z now has 28,000 miles on it. I did not like all the paint chips on the front and around the wheel wells. I had the car dismantled and repainted. It now has several coats of Sikkens and a lot of clear. Looks like black glass now. While it was dismantled I decided to have the side brake ducts painted to match. After much work on the ducts they now match the black paint and look awesome. I personally never liked the "plastic" look of the vents. Has anyone else had this done and if so what do you think of your results? Thanks.

I painted mine to match the EB then had them covered with plastic film rock guard to reduce stone chips. Not the best pics but here ya go.

Yes the mat black vents were the only thing I didn't like about the Z's exterior. A high gloss black plastic paint would look better on any Z but painting to match the rest is better yet.

It doesn't make sense to me that chevy didn't paint them in the first place, but it probably saved money. One day I'm gonna paint mine Red to match.

They are a vacum for air & small hard objects. I would imagine the paint would get trashed quickly. IMO
