Sloppy shifts

Some of the time when i go to shift on my 2004 Z06, my shifter seems to slip into oblivian, someplace between two gears, or it just completely misses the gear i am trying to jam it into. Usually I am speed shifting when this happens. Would a new shifter fix this problem? It just doesn't seem very firm, and it seems like alot of the times its trying to decide where i should shift, rather then me telling it where it should shift.

See if you can find a club in your area with modded C5's or Z06's. Ask to try their shifters and pick the one you like.

Any aftermarket shifter will cure this problem. I use a Hurst and love it.
