I saw a silver Z with a trailer hitch on it the other day. I didn't know whether to kill the guy or throw up on myself!! Got to love Americans (some more than others I guess) I bet they don't even make set-ups for the Euro "exotics". HMMM, a trailer hitch on a Ferrari, now that's a picture worth seeing.
Actually for local AutoX events a lot of our club members use a small tire trailer with a removable trailer hitch. I'll admit it looks funny a vette towing this trailer but's it's really quick and efficient and stores your jack and misc. parts.
Here's a link to build the hitch yourself. It's completely removable.
Oh wow, at a boat ramp. Nope I've never seen that one. I have seen the little matching trailers for shows. People who need the extra space for canopies and other show supplies.

Maybe you saw John Ames....he has a Q/S Z06 and is one of the top Pro Solo drivers in the country.
Oh yeah, he has a trailer hitch and a small trailer that he pulls his Hoosier slicks around the country on to beat everyone else in the country.
The hitch is actually a weight transfer device in Pro Solo allowing more weight in the back at a low position which aids traction and may also aid handling by lowering the CG nad roll center.
I know of a couple of top compeitors who have elected the weight penalty in seek of the better traction and installed the trailer hitch (as allowed by SCCA rules) even though they trailer the car itself to the National Tour and Pro Solo events.
Originally posted by Zambroski OK....That makes sense. But I saw it at the local boat ramp. My guess, jet ski's (at least I hope that's all).
Oh yea, boat ramp. Do a search on this site and I think you can come up with some pics someone posted last year of a Vette near a boat ramp... except the car is not on the "land" side of the ramp!
Oh, now that is some funny stuff!! I pull a couple of Jet ski's with my tahoe. I would wonder how in the world you can pull a watercraft out of the water with a Z with wet back tires on an incline?????? Must be a real pro on that clutch, or somebody who is really proficient in clutch changing on a Z.
