Hello everyone my name is David. I am a new member and this is my first post. I cannot wait to get my ZO6. I am considering the EB or the QS. Cant quite make up my mind. My target month is Oct or Nov. I am currently saving up to make a large down payment (I want low payment). I got a picture of a thermometer at work that I fill in with a red marker as I save money. Keeps me sane at work and drives me torwards my goal.
I previously purchased a new 94 Z28 auto/Polo grn back when the 6-spd were hard to find. I eventually had it converted to a 6-spd because I just couldnt be without a manual, especially when autoXing. I recently sold my pride and joy and now have a spot waiting in my garage for my new baby. I am currently going through withdraw and it is driving me mad. I almost broke down and bought a 01' QS ZO6 but I just need to hold out a little longer for a bigger down payment. Waiting for the 02' prices to come down a bit as well. I have been reading the forum for a while now and have picked up on some valuable information. Thanks for the great info. Good times good people.

Hello David,
I made a jump from a highly modified '93 Z28 to an EB '02 Z06. All of a sudden my Z28 feels like a POS when I drive it. GM has the low financing back again. You might be better of jumping on one now at the end of the model year just to get the lower rate.
David, Welcome to the forum ! Nice to know your doing the right thing and saving your money for your future Z. The top of the thermometer will come quicker than you think
When you're ready, we have forum vendors here that will treat you right
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Who has done the R8C option. Did you have an overall good experience. I have been reading about problems with the ZO6 at the time of delivery when you pick it up from the dealer. Scratches, misaligned panels etc. I have seen this first hand. Brand new EB with scratches on the door handle. I know that at Bowling Green they will pay a little more attention to detail to make sure the car is perfect for you if you pick it up there. Plus the car is handled by less hands. I think just for that reason it is well worth the $450 or so. I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on their experiences with R8C.
Welcome aboard David I joined last night.
I have also been on the site for some time now before I joined.
I am in the same boat you are in i am saving as much $$ as poss.
for a large down, I want a small monthly payment.
I have my mind SET on a Millenium Yellow 2003 or a 2002 if the deal is to good to pass up.
Yeah, a dealership in Tennesse has me down on the list for a 2003, I think I am 11th on the list, delivery date is yet determined but sometime late this year. I am not obligated and I get my deposit back if I dont want it. I am locked on MSRP and I dont think the dealer will budge on the price. I might have to let the 50th go and settle for a 2002 with under 5k miles. A friend of mine has an auctioners license and he saw a Torch ZO6 with 400 miles go for 44K. That might be the way to go. I cant wait. I work for a company that allows me to get the GM discount, but I guess no one is offering this discount on the ZO6.
