Hi Guys:
I have to arrange to have a car transported from the Pheonix, AZ area to Connecticut. Any hints or suggestions as to where to begin to find a good and reliable auto transport firm?
Happy NewYear!

Call Intercity Lines, Inc. (800) 221-3936. Their corporate headquarters is in Warren, MA and with Barrett-Jackson Auction (Scottsdale, AZ) just around the corner, they should have a good number of their transporters in the Phoenix, AZ in support of the auction. Might even get you a good price break.
I have used them a number of times and have been very satisfied with the service provided.
Corvette Mike recommended them to me and I have used them several times with no problems. Pickup and delivery times can vary within a window since they have to pick up cars and drop off cars along the way, and they often have to wait for hours to get in contact with the customers, so be patient.
They wrap your car in plastic and inventory all the dings before they pick it up; they are very professional. The lift lies very flat with almost no lip, so it is very good for low slung cars like the Z and the Viper.
I think they are headquartered in MA, but they go all over the country.
I've use Waggoner's Trucking twice and I am very happy with their service. They transport all of the BMW's in the USA and most of the Mercs as well. Both times I needed a new car transported, they were the cheapest and only took 1 day from pickup to delivery each time! Give em a shot ->
Theres tons of transporters out there. I've used Matson a number of times. Reasonably priced and they cover your car once it is inside the transporter.
Another happy Intercity Lines customer here. They transported my Z06 from Ohio to NY when I bought it new and it was top notch service. The guy who bought my '70 Stingray used them too for shipment to Atlanta and was also very pleased. They have these HUGE trucks with hydraulic lifts, so the car is never at an angle or driven on any kind of ramps. Its fully enclosed, air suspension, etc. Like traveling first class for the car. Reasonable rates too for enclosed service. I'm going to use them again when I move from NY to CA in a few months.
I miss my '70 big block! *sniff* *sniff*
Oh, and probably the best endorsement of all - after they loaded my '70 on the truck, they were picking up a McLaren F1 being flown in from England the next morning for delivery to Atlanta!

I have used "Passport " transporting with good luck. Car wrapped in plastic, hyd lifts, ect. ect. resonable. Was also transporting a Dussenberg and a Pierce-Arrow
I use InterCity Lines, Passport Transport, and Horseless Carriage.
I find that InterCity Lines likes to "pick and choose" their service
areas and have not been able to give timely service on the last
9-10 I have shipped.
I went with Intercity Lines when i shipped from Georgia to California.Very good company highly recommended. They treat your car with care here is their site:http://www.intercitylines.com/
