You need to find a Chevy dealership that has Saturday hours for their service department. They should be able to cut you a key by using your VIN number.
Good Luck. (next time make sure you have your second key with you.)
I never go on a trip anywhere without my spare.
If having check the original new owners paper work as there would have been a paper that told what the key code was.
If not having that use a Ohm meter and put probes to each side of the ign key pellet
See what the Ohms reading is and then match that to the code # of chart and any locksmith that sells blank GM keys could then come to car and make a key
The dealer did not have the right key blank. Luckily, I keep my spare at my girlfriend's house and her daughter who lives nearby fedex'd my spare to the dealership. It arrived Monday at noon and off I went. The story is actually much longer, but I won't bore you.
I'm goping to have two extra keys and fobs made.
Where can I carry a second key when travelling? In the car won't work...
Glad it all worked out for you. I had a conbination lock keyholder once that had a super strong magnet on the backside. I quit using it when I got the C6Z because of the aluminum frame but I aways worry about losing the FOB. I'm sure you can find them with a Google search.
Phillips screwdriver...remove a tail light lens.. there is enough room for a case of beer in there....wire in a key....also fob if ya wanna in a vacuum sealed food bag...tho the key is all ya really need...stash the fob in the trunk somewhere
