Use DIC to measure lap times at DE sessions????

Anyone ever use the DIC (Ave Speed?) to measure lap times at DE events? I've heard about it, but don't know how to do it. It seems you would have to reset it each session. How is that accomplished?

Please help.

Thanks,

That DIC feature probably would have some usefulness in open road rallyes if driving by yourself without a navigator, but probably no where near accurate enough to be competitive in such venues.

I've used the Elapsed Time feature of the DIC to get rough lap times at Watkins Glen. Set the DIC for the Elapsed Time, make sure it is set to 0.0 by using the reset button if you need to. Then after I warm up the tires a little I hit Reset as I pass the start/finish line (which starts the clock, and then you hit it again as you pass the start/finish line to stop the clock.

Even at speed this is relativiely easy to do since you are in the middle of a straight. Not completely accurate but good enough for what I am lookng for.
