Valve Stem Gauges - Any Opinions?

I noticed these valve stem pressure gauges on all the cars at a local Ford dealer yesterday and on eBay today. What do you think of them as a quick visual indicator for our Z06s since we don't have tire pressure sensors?

We sell these where I work and I don't think they're very accurate. Might be ok on the family sedan but not on Vette.

My personal opinion is..they're garbage!!!

I have seen those and most are pretty cheap (made in Taiwan) and they don't hold up, or work that well for that matter. In most cases you can feel the low tire or see the low tire pressure as soon as these tell you the same thing.

If you want something like that I would spend the $$ and get a quality tire pressure monitor system, or install the GM monitors and activate the system that is already in your car now.

I've got 'em on my other cars and they work just fine. My wife and daughters have spotted problems before they would otherwise have known....you gotta take a look at 'em We have caught most problems when we see yellow on the indicator.....

Most Women probabily wouldn't feel a difference in handling with a low tire and not too many look at their tires.

I tried 'em on my Z and they look pretty STUPID:(

I bought tire sensors from GM Parts Direct for approx $250.00 and had Mr. Goodwrench turn 'em on for me with his tech 2 and a magnet....I know him and there was no charge to turn 'em on:cool:

There was a charge to have the tire sensors installed on the wheels.....I think it cost me $20.00 or so.....

I like my Talking Gauge. It drives my wife nuts when I hit the recall button about two dozen times...
