what # to contact chevy at

I took my stock cam out and there was literally a chunk missing from one of the lobes wider then the lifter path Engine was bone stock untouched. Only time it was opened up was for the re-ring. i'll post pictures in a min. But the missing patch was n the front of the engine i thought at first it would explain scratches on the one clynder wall, but then i looked more closely and it would have had to be put into the car like that, i can't see the lifter doing that damage to it

What kind of performance problems were you having?

Any idea of how that happened?

That would make you wonder if there was a flaw in the metal or if the cam just wasn't properly hardened.

i dont know, but the patch looks as if it was a bad cam that got past quality control at GM.
