Hello, I am looking into buying a Z06 and I was wondering what the difference between an 01 and 02 is? Well, except one being a year older, dayeeeh but anything different. I know the 01 being the first year for the z06 with the new body styling, but did they run into problems, any defects, or anything like that? Because I know my 3000gt, the years 92-94 had a problem with piston rings and after like 40,000 miles the car started burning oil bad. Anything like that the 01's run into. If you guys can help me I would greatly appreciate it. Also in buying the 01 what is the best color, I want to get RED, what do you think? So if you guys can help me with these questions I would greatly appreciate it, thanks in advance!
03 = additional passenger accident protection, 50th Anniversary Badging and Owners Kit (Manual/Video), 50th Anniversary Keys.
New fuel system from C6 on mid and late producton (RPO FFS).
04 = New suspension (Nurburgring tuned), Steel Transmission Fork, LS6 badging on engine throttle body, No Video.

I'll add a few comments since I have an 01
01=smaller cam, screen on MAF, more restricted intake airbox, pup cats, solid valve stems vs hollow intake/sodium filled exhaust, oil consumption problems on many 01 and some 02 models (may be valley pan pcv or piston ring trouble).
I use a quart every 1000-1200 miles, but I don't care when I put my foot in it and have the ass trying to step out during a 3rd to 4th powershift at Firebird last Friday
Not fair, it was cool and F1's at 25psi is not good but will get your attention
