Where did the water go?

Hello all, I hope you and yours are well. My problem is I spilled a 20oz cup of water in my trunk about 8 inches behind the passenger seat. Well before i could finish my curse words and grab a towel, which i had handy, the water disappeared through the stock carpeting and i heard a "wush" and the water was gone. There was no water under the car. "WTF!" i exclaimed loudly, where did the water go? I am now worried that there is an amount of water in the tub (pun intended), just sitting there funkifying...what to do? Will the heat from the car evaporate it? Do i need to drill a hole somewhere and let it out---ugg. thanks in advance

Re: Where did the water go?

The carpet lays flat but there are ridges in the trunk pan that I noticed when i did a sound and heat insulation install. My guess it is laying below the carpet in a ridge. I forget if there was jute padding?? Either way it is not a big deal to pull he rear carpet. Comes out pretty easy.
