I have never done this to any of my cars. For me it cost too much money to repair if I screw up. I am like you and always use the clutch. Seems to work pretty good for me.

OK, let me put my 2 cents in here and clear this up a bit!
Speedshifting: Shifting as fast as you can, using the clutch for each shift and lifting off the throttle during each shift.
Powershifting: Shifting as fast as you can, using the clutch for each shift and keeping the throttle to the floor during each shift.
I would never and have never attempted to shift fast at the track without depressing the clutch! I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid!
Hope this clears things up some,,,,,or is it clear as mud?
Jimbo
oh, and I forgot to add I only speed $hit when I have "Montezuma's Revenge".

you cant get the tranny to shift at WOT without the clutch. the old days they were called crash boxes but ya had to lift the gas .one of the secrets of power/speed [they are the same] shifting is to put a large force on the shifter [called loading up] at WOT and when ya hit the clutch it will shift.been doing it for years even on my harley.if ya cant speed shift dont show up at the drags, better yet get an automatic
Speed sh$ts: You're out on a cruise when you realize you've eaten something really bad. You have to drive at insane speeds to get to a bathroom before you destroy your pants.
Powershift at the track, speedshift on the street. I have kept the vette from the track, but my Cobra was always there - wife got tired of broken parts and big expenditures, so I try not to drive the vette like that.
DUDE, you're waisting at least a couple hundredths of a second there!
JK, it looked pretty fast to me.
I have a friend that dosen't lift throttle, he's a much better driver than I am and it feels like you're in an automatic equipped car when he's driving hard. I've helped him swap the tranny twice. For me the difference isn't that important. I'm trying to have fun, not set records.
