I had to drive it 500 miles to get it home on a sparsely traveled interstate. It would be impossible for me to stay around 50.

I kept it at around 50 for 100 miles and modulated between 50 and 100 for the rest of the trip.

I was a good boy. I didn't let her rip until after the 500 mile break in. 500 miles was torture though.

I waited impatiently until 503 miles and then went to a construction area with long empty streets.

I was sitting at a red light on my way to the coast when I noticed the odo said "500"! Did I mention I was "first" at the red light?

I couldn't control myself. Believe me, I tried, but I just couldn't do it. I dug in deep before she was broken in and she screamed till I finally let up. I confess, I cheated on the break in and let her rip at 300 miles. Anyone else dare to tell the truth?

Before Christmas I was fortunate enough to locate a MY Z06 with a TPW already in place -- 'cept the car was being delivered to GA (I'm in PA). No problems -- I'd have the car driven up from GA with a chase van behind.

An elderly gentleman (seriously -- he was both ederly, and a gentleman) was the driver. Drove through the night to get it to me. The DIC showed that the average speed from GA to PA was 54.8 MPH. Perfect!

...So, not only did a kind soul take it easy on her getting her to me, but I got the car a day after it arrived at the dealer with the break-in period done FOR ME!

You know what THAT means (meant)...

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! And right away!

OK you got me there, but he still could have reset the avg mph in the DIC coming off the exit ramp.
