Z06 A Daily Driver?

I can't stand waiting for this miserable weather in the NE to clear. Sometimes my Z spends days in the garage because it's raining.
Time for me to re-think why I bought it. It's time to drive. It won't melt and I can always wash it when the sun comes out.

How many on this board use their Z's as daily drivers?

What is the point in spending the money for a great car if you don't get the most out of it? I can take a picture of the Z on the lot and not have to pay for it. Hang the pic in the living room and look at it every day. I own the pic and it will never get a ding, scratch, or wear. I drive my Z every day and love it. Sure I could go out and get another car that got 35 miles to the gallon and I gave a rats a$$ about but, then I wouldn't get to enjoy the Z every day.

P.S. no flame intended on guys that garage their Z's all the time. I just can't do it. I have no self control when it comes to this car so, why even try. I just have too much fun.

Bro, I have two other cars and it's still impossible not to drive the Z. Just like you, I started out only using it in good weather, now I use the Z on sunny or rainny days. Next it will be in the snow

Being from Canada, it's hard not to want to drive it everyday, if it's raining out it stays dry, but definitely no winters.

I agree. I drive my Z whenever conditions permit (meaning, no snowfall predicted. With those fat Supercar tires, it's not the best car to drive in the snow ).

Like "Case2307" said, why spend the money just to leave the car parked? It's not like some dirt or water on the Body really makes much difference to how the car drives.

No offence intended, but while I do agree that a pretty Corvette is nice to look at, I don't think it's nearly as nice as driving!

I hope no one takes the post wrong. There were thunder storms here this morning. It was raining so hard that there was standing water all over. I stayed home and waited for the rain to slow before I ever thought of driving to work. It doesn't snow here in Houston so that is a different story all together. This car is not fun driving with standing water all over the road.

I drive mine 75 miles a day. I'll have to say that I do get a little nervous in the rain but I just try to be extra cautious. Yes it has it's share of rock chips, but I can't see them when I'm behind the wheel.

Mine is a daily driver when its nice and sunny. Although today it was cloudy and I drove it anyway. It's not my only car , so drive it when I want to. There are lots of places where I don't take it or want to park it.

Since it's black and a PITA to keep clean, it's mostly reserved for sunny days. Since I'm a real aggressive driver, I don't find it that much fun spinning my tires everywhere on wet roads.

every day all day, twice as much on sunny days I have had the car for almost 3 months now and I have been away for work for at least 3 weeks and I have put on 6,000 miles since I got it I love the car, I hate seeing the chip marks and rock chips from driving in less than best conditions but god I love driving that car

reddeath,

Your beating me, I too have had mine for 3 months but I only have 3300 miles on it. Damn I thought I was going to be the long term ironbut Z tester.

By the way, get a XPEL clear bra to prevent any more chips. I can't even see mine on my TR Z

I use to live in Chicago and there's no way in hell I would drive the Z in the snow. Not so much because of snow but the darn salt they use on roads. I think it would destroy the car.

ya no snow for me, the bra thing is an idea but since the chips are there and it was painted once before I got it, I'm not spending much on the nose for protection. My goal would be paint in 2 year

27 months old and she has almost 32,000 miles on her, and I can't drive her all year round...
