Z06 Fest at the National Corvette Museum NEED IDEAS
Got my lifetime membership packet today (ist 1st class, see my other post) and included was the NCM 2002 Calendar of Events. The 7th event listed is our event. It states: Z06 FEST This inaugrural Z06 event held at the NCM promises to be a homage to ultra-performance with full days of autocrossing and drag racing, tech sessions and seminars, road tours, and a cookout and banquet. SEPT 26-28 (Thursday, Friday, & Saturday)
I have been designated as the liason between Z06vette.com and the NCM. I will be working closely with the NCM museum on behalf of Z06vette.com to assist in planning one hell of an event. Z06vette.com will be acting as a co-host for this event.
I'd like to get a rough count on who we can count on to attend this event.
I would also like to here any ideas that you might have that you would like to see incorporated into this event. I will then pass these ideas along to our contact at the NCM for possible inclusion.
As a co-host we will need to offer assistance during the event. I'd like to start a list of those that we can count on to lend a helping hand during the event. We need help at the cookout, car show, and other events during the weekend.
Joe

If I'm alive, I'll definitely be there. I'll go ahead and volunteer to lead the "Z06 Scenic Cruise". We'll depart on Friday evening around 2pm and cruise along the beautiful I-65 as we head to Nashville. Right before we enter Nashville we will exit and head towars our "destination". Once there, we will enjoy the lovely scenery of Hooters. ...... AND BRING YOUR CAMERAS!!!
OOOH, I like this idea very much, think the museum would go for it. I really am serious. But it would have to be thursday, as Friday is the Cookout and Saturday the banquet. Maybe we could do this a lunch
Keep the ideas coming
Joe

I would like to attend as well. Its a long haul but WTF, you only live once and I've never been there. I think a lot of members will attend this and it would be helpful if we could put a name with a face through some type of name badge for those who wanted to wear them. Will there be a fee for this gathering? Registration packet? What do you think?
I can't remember the name of that strip club in BG....think those chickies would want to do banner shots??
I can't mention any names, but after one of the past big events in BG, a few members and Corvette celebrities made a run to Al's Showplace in Nashville. There's also Ken's Gold Club where they offer a FREE lunch buffet, or so I hear..............
I'm sure there will be a small registration fee that will cover the dinner banquet, t-shirts, long distance award etc. This event is going to be huge!!

YES, I will be there and more than willing to help!
Joe, BIG CONGRATS on your recent Lifetime membership to the NCM!
For those that have never attended a Corvette event at the NCM, just go to their web site and click on EVENTS, then click on one of their major event listings under "Schedule" and you can see what, typicallly, goes on during a weekend event.
I have attended numerous Vet weekends at the NCM, and I can honestly say, the entire staff works hard to make sure their guests have a great time!
