Invest in a good radar detector would be the first recommendation I have.
Next would be some sort of protection for the front end of the car... a bra, clear bra etc. There is a lot of crap on the road driving I-10 through Arizona. Just be sure that you have a clear view of the roadway to avoid those road gators the trucks seem to spew along the road. I have seen everything from 2x4's to a sofa in the slow lane (dropped out of a pickup truck, and they just kept going)
There are some nice sections to open her up after you get past Quartzsite Az. (don't know to much of what the road is like west of Quartzsite).
Arizona Highway Patrol usually hangs around this area, so watch your speed until you get far enough out of town limits.
After you get close to Phoenix, just maintain the speed limit as this is ticket heaven for law enforcement...and much the same all the way to Tucson. You may find an empty stretch here and there..just depends on the hour you drive through, traffic can be a bear around Phoenix and Tucson.
