Z06 vs. C5R

I was poking around the net tonight trying to take my mind off of my car troubles and I found this article that gives a good comparison between the Z06 and C5R. Happy reading.....

Remember the C5-R vs Z06 debate we had a few weeks back?

Not to flog a dead horse - but vindication is schweeet - this is what some of us were trying to say, backed up by facts - not bench racer stories...

"Because, despite similarities, it is radically different from the Z06 with which it shares a handful of components. "

and

"I knew if I got down to a 2:30 flat, I’d be cooking,” said Pilgrim, who reeled off a series of 2 minute, 29.1 second laps in a car that hadn’t even had its tire pressures optimized. Although that’s about a half-minute slower than the racing car, which has a lot more grip and 225 more bhp, it’s not bad for a road car. "

The cars are close in name, colour and heritage - but that's it - making Z06 vs C5-R comparisons moot..

Cool article. I love this quote:

"Along with massive Goodyear F1 Supercar tires, this package delivers skidpad performance that’s the best of any road car we’ve tested."

Wow - that says alot. Especially coming from import-biased R&T.

"Or to breathe fire, because with 385 bhp and 385 lb.-ft. of torque, this sizzling small-block makes quick work of acceleration times."

I guess this article must be old (no date on it) as they are working with a 2001 model.
