as we stand today in the year 2002
is the zo6 2002 the best corvette in the history of the vette
as far as speed , braking, build quality, and handlind craftsmanship. and technological advances?
i would say yes by far
can i get some feedback from other members
I have limited experience (a 1975 and the 01 Z06), but I can say there is no comparison between the two I've owned. Technology is a wonderful thing when applied correctly.

I agree that the Z06 is the "best vette yet". I don't however think it is the best during its time period. In MHO, that honor belongs to the '63 vette with its IRS and fuel injection, body style (it had a unique look) and long option list. During that time, GM poured their heart and soul into that car and while GM did a great job with the Z06, I can't help but think they held back a few goodies for the following years. Just my $.02 worth. Bill
i do agree 70 boss
there i more corvette fun in store for us
i think when the c6 is out for a few years they will go wild with the hp .... killing all vipers and porshe tt 's forever
but the 2002 zo6 will still be an important vette to recon with
I am so happy with this one that it might be my last one. I don't see how it could get any better. Great exhaust sound, nice radio when you can hear it, good mileage for 405 plus HP. Who could want anything more?
The 2002 Corvette Z06 is the quickest, most agile and highest quality Corvette built in it's 49 year history. I have owned 17 Corvettes of all different generations and configurations and none compares to the current Corvettes.
This is not to say that the Corvette won't get even better in the future, I think it is all part of the game plan to make them better each year. I think Dave Hill listens to the enthusiasts and reacts to their complaints. I do think some of the current complaints such as the quality of the interior and so forth will be addressed in the near future.

Both gens of the Z are incredible performance "bang-for-the-buck" cars.
With the recent prices of the C5 gen Zs they are even more so.
