Laguna Seca ALMS Race

Looking for any info or recommendations on the upcoming ALMS race at Laguna Seca next month.

Seating recommendations, parking (Vette Corral?), hotels, etc.. The ALMS web site is rather vague.

Thanks very much;

Pat

There will be a Corvette Corral sponsored by the NCM and The C5/C6 Registry. The Corvette Corral will be open to ALL Corvettes. Please wait to purchase tix as you might have obtain your Corvette Corral Pass with the tix. Larry Hayes of IMSA is helping to coordinate this with Laguna Seca.

You do not need to purchase grandstand tix as you can park at the Corvette Corral and then either watch from there (bring a chair) or walk to any of the grandstands.

There will also be a 17 Mile Drive Corvette caravan on Friday.

More info will be posted as details are finalized.

Larry is the man, he used to work at the NCM. We had a event at Road Atlanta where we all got a few pace laps and met Max Pappis. They have expanded the Corvette corral at Road Atlanta for up to 400 vettes this year.

Enjoy!!

I have been debating the whole last week on driving to the race....I really WANT to but I just pulled a really long drive to Laguna Seca for the Pebble Beach Concours AND the Historic Races...and that was a long drive I thought for a rush weekend.

I will decide this week I think....I just may do it>

17 Mile Drive Date Change

In order to better fit the schedule of the Laguna Seca Corvette Corral, the C5/C6 Registry 17 Mile Drive Cruise has been rescheduled to SUNDAY OCTOBER 17, 2004 at 10:00 AM.

As a special event for this year's ALMS races at Laguna Seca, you are invited to join us for a cruise through Pebble Beach on Sunday October 17, 2004.

We will meet at the Safeway Parking lot, 1212 Forest Avenue in Pacific Grove. As you can see from the map, the meeting point is readily accessible whether coming from Laguna Seca, Pacific Grove, Monterey or Carmel. Map of Safeway, 1212 Forest Ave Pacific Grove, CA by MapQuest

Meeting time is 10:00 AM sharp, so you should plan to leave Laguna Seca at 9:30 AM.

After a brief driver's meeting, we will head out onto Highway 68 for about a half mile and enter Pebble Beach. The gate fee will not be charged to Corvettes in the caravan. The route will follow the coastline through the storied forests, golf courses and mansions built by people like Crocker, Morse, Firestone and the like. This is where Woods won the US open, Eastwood built his home, the Pebble Beach Concours is held and multimillion dollar homes are bought as tear-downs to be replaced by marvels of excess. www.pebblebeach.com Once inside the gates, it is your time to enjoy the view, the people and your Corvette. There are many viewing and photo sites, stop when you wish and enjoy the beauty and the wildlife. If you want to peel off into the shops and Lodge at Pebble Beach, feel free to do so. We will wend our way out through the village of Carmel by the Sea and back to the track. Caravan FRS frequency will be 1 code 0. Please remember we are sharing 17 mile drive with other visitors and local residents during this tour
