Northern CA Dyno Day - October 5th

LOCATION: APEX Motorsports, Santa Clara, CA

WEBSITE: WWW.APEXMOTORSPORTS.COM

TIME & DATE: 9:00 am, Sunday, October 5, 2003

GENERAL INFO: This is a above the ground Dynojet setup. Group rate will be $75 (CASH) per car, including 3 pulls, AFR, and best pull printout. Dyno data for all 3 pulls available (bring your own disk for copy of test files). Owners allowed to operate their own cars on dyno. All Corvettes welcome, Z06 & other all other C5s have priority over older models. FIRST COME - FIRST SERVED!!!

Corvettes can be stock or modified, however no performance alterations or dyno tuning allowed until after group session completed, then by prior appt only. No exceptions.

Please respond to this post to indicate if you are planning to participate, so the Dyno shop knows how many cars to expect. A minimum of 6 cars required to qualify for group rates. The more the merrier, family and friend welcome, but plan to arrive NLT 10:30 am to insure you'll get your turn on the Dyno.

I'll be there in my new C5 Coupe just freshly broken in, to see what a "50th" baselines at bone stock. Spread the word to all your C5 buddies to bring their cars too and join in on the FUN.

The more the merrier!!!

Forgot to mention, for all you first timers, here's a primer on the Dynojet system that is very informative.

Polar Bear, we need to get more cars signed up to be eligible for a group discount. You're the only person to respond so far after I first started this post about two weeks ago.

COME ON GUYS!!! Little over a week left to go. We need more cars to make this worthwhile for everyone. Please acknowledge if you want to be a part of this Z06 HAPPENING in the Northern California area.

And please do it before next Sunday, SUNDAY, NEXT SUNDAY!!!

Now back to your regularly scheduled program . . .

I would really like to go but it is impossible for that date. Are there any others planned? I live in Reno, not that far away.

The Dyno shop owner contacted me today. He is still offering a special group rate and "exclusive" use of his dyno this Sunday.

We could probably have a least a dozen more cars without the shop running out of dyno time bandwidth. Surely there must be a few more forum members residing in the local area chomping at the bit to dyno their new, high performance, shiney plastic driving machines. Dyno"jetting" is really, really FUN. And awesome just to see all those horses running flat out while standing still!!!

If anyone else wants in, just show up at APEX Motorsports, 2555 Lafayette Street, Santa Clara, CA. The shop will open up (just for us) Sunday at 9am.

EVERYONE WELCOME!!!

We're still on for Sunday!!!

I called APEX Motorsports this afternoon and Bill Kaiser, the owner. Good News!!! He said we can still have the Dyno Day as originally scheduled tomorrow, this Sunday. Even better, he we'll still honor the group rate of $75 per car, even if fewer than six cars show up to be dyno'd. Thank you Bill! You're a straight up guy in my book. Vince will be the man in charge and the only condition is we all need to be prepared to pay in cash. So, hit your ATM machine on your way over, make sure your engine oil is up to the full mark, and better top off the tank with gas. (The more weight over the rear wheels the better).

Hope to see all you local Z06 (including any other C5) owners there at 9am. The more cars that show up the better. Please try to arrive before 10am to insure your car gets a turn on the dyno before the session is over (probably before NOON).

EVERYONE welcome even if all you want to do is watch.

Any new SVT Cobra or Cobra owners reading this, who are members of the Z06vette.com forum, are also welcome to participate just to keep things more interesting.

Oh BTW, Polar Bear will be there who wants to start a new Z06 club, so bring your suggestions for other Z06 owner activities and local events. Another meet at Alice's maybe or how about an overnight scenic road tour to Yosemite before the snow falls.
