Streets of Willow Springs on January 7th and 8th

Who is planning on going to Streets of Willow Springs on January 7th and 8th.
http://www.speedventures.net/1-7-2006_event.asp

It sounds like we will have another good Corvette turn-out.
  • I will be there
  • Justin might be there if he does not ship out to the gulf
  • Dean, a friend is bringing his NEW C6 Z06!
  • Ed the fireman is going
  • FatBillyBob said he would go
  • Someone with a handle of CNC is registered
  • MountainBiker2 is going if his power steering is fixed in time
  • Kraff will be there instructing
  • at least two others said they are going, but I don't remember who

Fastest regards,

Olitho

Streets of Willow Springs from inside a Z06

Hey Folks:

I am hoping to see some more of you step up and register so our Z06Vette.com contingent is well represented.

For those of you who have never driven Streets of Willow Springs, here is a link to see the track from inside a Z06. This is a clip I made from laps when I won the EX class at a Porsche Owners Club Short Track Series running Streets of Willow counter-clockwise as we will do on Sunday. You will see a lot of Porsche passing and one BMW M3. There were a lot of slow drivers there. If you wonder why sometimes I don't take the pass sometimes when I clearly can, it is because POC has very strict passing regulations that only allow passing on two places on the track and with a point by. The important thing here is that you get to see the track.

I am now running about 3 seconds per lap faster than when this video was recorded.

The track is fun, technical and is great for drivers new to the track. It is generally slower than most of the other tracks, especially in the curves, although there are two good straights good for over 100 MPH. The corners offer good run-off space, too, in case you make a mistake and need more room.

PS. This event is already 75% full and I only see one other Corvette so far. FYI - This event is a Speedventures event and not a Porsche Owners Club event.

Streets of Willow

Oli - I saw your post. I am the CNC signed up for the Streets of Willow. I will be there on Saturday only. I am new to this site and Z06's in general. Also, your video link does not seem to be working for me.

Hi CNC:

I fixed the link. I think part of it got left off when I pasted in.

Look for me when you get there. I am usually parked in the area just behind the grandstands. I have a 20' white enclosed trailer pulled by a black Ford F250 Diesel truck.

My car is a blue Z16 number 897. Come and join us. I am sure there will be other Z06 drivers. They are probably just dragging their feet registering... although they better do it soon. This event seems to be filling up faster than usual.
