I just completed my first NEVADA OPEN ROAD CHALLENGE timed race...and I want to recommend this FUN..timed RACE...which is extremely well ORGANIZED and SAFE.....
It's a 100 mile distance race...timed...in speed categories that start at 95 mph..and move up in 10mph increments...
It's a two lane highway, about 150 miles north of Las Vegas...and the NEXT EVENTS are in SEPTEMBER...this gives you plenty of heads up......FOR INFO go to this WEBSITE....

It's not difficult....a timed event, with or without a navigator....over a set distance....With stringent safety requirements...Great Location....you'll have fun...and most participants were 60+..!! Many couples were there...and the STARDUST was there too!!???
Corvette's were most common, Vipers, Porsche's, Mustang's, f150 Lightnings, Ferrari's, etc. etc..even a 37 Ford @157mph..
GREAT EVENT, socializing...I highly recommend -----but don't delay, sign up ASAP....
Our wheels were a hit too, to those that saw them...there..!!

If I only had the time, I would love to do that event, I read all about it about a month ago, sounds really fun! Hey, where else can you double and triple the speed limit for over a 100 miles and not have to worry about getting a ticket! Gotta Love It!

Gary -- Fantastic! Glad you liked it -- had planned to go, but missed the NORC this year due to some last minute mechanical issues. Ran in last Sept's SSCC and plan on heading back out this next Sept.

Not a bad spot to cruise thru the desert @ 140 w/o a care in the world!

Id love to do that event. Watched some stuff on these races a while ago. Never really considered it till now though. hmmm....
