When I joined back in 2004, the site traffic for this site seemed to be significantly higher, as I don't have the webalyzer stats to back me up, I'll have to go with that general statement. But now it seems that a majority of the thread participants are either moderators or life long member/supporters, with very few "joe blow member" participation. Also, the number of members viewing a certain section at any given time seems incredibly low lately too... what's going on? where did everyone go?
(not bashing here, just seems strange that traffic is off considerably)
Good question. The site's gone through some changes in appearance as well as policy. That could have something to do with it. Then again, maybe we've simply said everything there is to say about Z06's.

Busy chipping away at the ice? Out looking for Art's wife? Out looking for holiday gifts? Busy with family, work, other stuff? Bored with the same old Z06 chat? Depressed because we can't afford the new generation of Z06? All of the above?
A few subtle things sometimes happen with forums, churches, clubs, etc:
1. New members ask questions that have been ask before & the old timers tell them that question has been answered many times before, let me suggest you do a search. Sometimes that is said in a nice way & some others answer with a certain level of irritation that the person didn’t do that in the first place. When in reality the newer person is not just trying to ask a question but is trying to leave the lurker stage & connect with the group.
2. One of the great things about this site is also a challenges for helping new people feel welcome. Often it’s like going to another families Thanksgiving celebration. They are close & you are an outsider who has no idea what they are talking about when they laugh about all the private stories you don’t know anything about. So the site turns into more of an IM site of friends instead of a place to gain information, find products to purchase & then make friends.
I am not saying this is the way it is. A statement has been made so I'm just mentioning the normal question that anyone in charge of a people oriented organization asks over & over again as they evaluate what their purpose is. Are we inclusive or becoming exclusive. That is not usually answered objectively by those who have been involved for years. To much defensiveness. If there are not many new or newly involved than the question is answered.

The site has changed quite a bit over the years. Especially lately. Better or worse mabey the traffic is a reflection, I don;t know or as you said have the stats.I hit it everyday for the most part but don't always chime in. But you do make a point it does seem like the same 10-15 people alot of the time. The attitude and flavor has changed. I don't let that get in the way there are quite a few great informative guys who are all about the car stuff and no other nonsense.
The site has changed. It doesn't seem as "homey" as it used to. It's different and I understand that running site are to make money but it's lost the hometown feel. All of the ads really ruin it. I know I can become a "lifetime memer" and such but, to be honest, I would certainly have done so with the old site not this one. I still stop by here to check out the goings on but that's about it. I miss the way things were here.
Just to be clear...not bashing the new site manager, just expressing an opinion.
