100% Stock '03 Z06 Dyno Numbers

My car is 100% stock of the show room floor, 2000mi on the motor.

Dynoed at Auto Repair Specialites in Gresham, Oregon.

Best #-
343.0 rwhp
334.8 rwtq

On the third pull a put a old K&N filter out of my camaro in, and the car dropped 30hp!!! I guess the filter must of been clogged, man that must of been hurting performace on my H/C camaro!!!

So how do these numbers stack up against 100% bone stock Z06's???

Thanks

Those #'s look good. I dyno'd my 03 when it had 1200miles and I pulled 344HP & 336TQ.

The range for a bone stock 2002/2003 with less than 5K miles is 340 - 355, with most coming in right around 350. Correction factors, dyno to dyno variance, and how close you are to that 5K mileage mark makes up for the differences.

There is a thread out there that is a poll showing stock numbers.

I know of a handful of '03 owners that have dynoed 360+rw stock. My 2003 with around 5000 miles laid down 363 to the wheels (dyno graph).

The range for the '02/'03s seem to be 340-365rw.

Might not be a clogged filter....until the PCM catches up to the increased air, you would likely be running a little lean.

30rwhp seemed outrages to me!! Whatever it is, I'm glad I figured it out on the dyno and not on the track or street!

I think the only way to compare dyno numbers is between the cars that dyno at that shop only. Mine dynoed at 354 to the wheels and the range at that shop was as low as 335 to a high 354. I've noticed that a lot of 360+ hp cars come from dyno shops that produce numbers in that range regularly for Z06's, I think it's just incosistentcy between dynos. The numbers are basically meaningless anyway for stock Vettes. Take a sample of about 20 Z06's and have the same experienced driver run each one at the track and I bet they all run very close times, no matter what the dyno numbers are. It's all DRIVER. I go to the track every week with my other car and regularly see Z06's beat Vipers just because the Vette driver was better. There's a lot of really good 'Vette drivers out there that can drive around bigger hp cars.

Mine was 356 rwhp 348 rwtq with about 2K miles and just a Vararam. I wish now that I would've gotten a baseline before I installed the Vararam to see if there was any difference. You're definitely in the ballpark and there could be a variance in dyno's.

Mine is a totally different beast, but pulling the filter (stock paper) on my car resulted in a 65 rwhp/45 rwtq loss on the dyno. Curious creatures these EFI cars are! :o:

Depends on the dyno but IMO thats a little low for an 03. I have been seeing a lot more in the 360 range.

:( Seems on the low side of the average spread for the 405 hp. 2002 & up models.

Good 385 hp. 01 Z'sss were dynoing from 338 to 346 hp. bone stock.

:o: Damn Dyno's do vary due to weather, operator, and probably normal scatter ie. standard distribution curve on test equipment and car... ie. oil & water temp. tune, humidity.

Right.. That's what happened when I installed the Vararam. It was actually running rich, not lean.

YES, I started it. Thanks to everyone who has responded (well over 150 members) with '02 and up Z06s.

This is clearly indicated from the same poll. The "mean" from the distribution of all Zs in the survey is actually just a tad over "355" rwhp. This, of course, is for the *405HP* Z06, model years '02 to present.
