425 Rwhp?

I am wanting to bump the "BEE" up to about 425 rwhp.I currently have Supermaxx long tubes, vararam & preditor.I know Heads & cam are a must but I am so confused as to which ones.I see some guys with AFR 205 making good power ,then I read that they are too small & should be using 225's.As far as induction goes ,do I need to go to a 90mm set up?I am just starting to plan things now to do in the spring & I want to get right the first time.Another problem I am having is there is no one with in a 6 hour drive that can tune it after wards, any ideas on that?Any help here is greatly appreciated.

Since you already have headers and an intake, put you a nice cam such as the G5X3 and an underdrive pulley and you should be real close to those numbers.

Who said AFR 205's are too small?

Last week someone posted about being unhappy with his dyno #s after dumping a bunch of money into it.I think DJ worm told him that 205's were too small or at least not any better than stock.

I have a similar set-up to Jub Jub and I made 450 RWHP with AFR Heads and all the bolt ons from LG - (Excluding FAST 90 and NW TB - Now, I have the FAST ordered and am expecting to be 465 - 470 RWHP. This is with a G5X2 @112 LSA. Lots of power under the curve.

For stock displacement, the AFR 205 heads have proved themselves worthy time and time again. This is not to say there aren't better set-ups out there but the 205's are consistent, reliable and flow very well. I'm happy with mine! The nice benefit to having those heads is you get to keep your stock ones or sell them to help defray the cost of the 205's.

I would put in a cam to achieve your goal of 425RWHP, a set of heads will cost you more and defiantly put you over your goal

I got 430RWHP, with a cam and all the bolt on's!

How is this cam at idle?

The cam is loppy, but that is the way I like it. In my opinion, 112 LSA is the way to go. After I rode in RPallas' Z (He had a 112 LSA Cam), I was sold. Jrod posted a sound clip of the G5X3 on this site, so I would search for that post and listen to it.

Here is my dyno sheet with LS6 heads ported, 2.08 intake valves, cam, ported LS6 intake manifold and ported throttle body. I don't get to enjoy all of this HP and torque because of the high altitude here but I am very pleased by how the car runs and behaves. Hope that helps you to see what heads and cam can do. Also, CR is 11.5:1

Ralph, Those look like very good numbers to me at any altitude. Was the dyno data collected corrected to SAE? If you made those kind of numbers at over 8K raw data without adjustment, then you my friend have an animal.

I wish!! I believe the results are SAE, corrected to standard conditions at sea level. So, figure 3% per 1000ft loss due to elevation and the math is easy to do. Not a beast like some, but it is still fun to drive up here.
