Almost 400 rwhp w/o heads, cam, blower, nos, turbo, or stroker.
Just got back to Vegas from Los Angeles. Dynoed the car at Morgan Motorsports (dynojet w/ wideband O2). A friend of mine helped me do some LS1 editing between pulls. My horsepower went from 379 rwhp to 393 rwhp. Torque increased from 370 to 378. All this was accomplished by modifying the air/fuel ratio. I didn't even have to mess with timing. When I tried to up the timing, I gained 1 hp but lost 1 ft# of torque - put it back to stock timing, not worth the 1 hp.
So for all you guys that said I wouldn't hit 400 rwhp without getting into the motor, I will be posting my new dyno numbers after I install my Corsa Titanium, which is on the way to me from Exit 28.
Looks like my next investment will be a new clutch and some drag radials - the car doesn't hook through third.

I did not have Mike Morgan tune the car - it was on a Saturday and he wasn't there - Harry was running the dyno. I just paid for 1 hr. of dyno time and my friend helped me with the LS1 editing. We were like an electronic pit crew - changin the mixture after each pull, flashing the computer, and doing the next pull. The poor car didn't even have time to cool down!!!
Which/ Who's pully are you using? What have you noticed from it? any lights dimming anything problems?
BTW: Awesome, I think thats all alot of guys need is some inspiration that 400 is there from bolt ons...

Congrats!!!
2 quick questions:
What was your final A/F ratio for the max HP?
I see you are running FLP's w/out cats. Are you using o2 Sims or did you disable them through LS1 Edit?
Thanks!

Very nice #s. 14 ponies and 8 ft-lbs gained at the wheels really is decent for an hour's worth of electronic tuning on the dyno.
What did your '02 dyno at when it was still stock?
What PCM changes did you make with Edit? Sounds like you fine tuned via the PE vs. rpm table? Did you have a wideband AFR analyzer hooked up to get feedback to dial in the changes?
Apparently, you had no problems with KR. Were you using high octane racing gas in the tank?
Please post the actual dyno charts when you get a chance. TIA.
I have thought that 400rwhp with simple bolt-ons was do-able and that has been my target. I have yet to do a dyno tune with LS-Edit but I do plan on that for an upcoming mod. If I can gain approximately 15 rwhp with the edit, that will put me there. Not bad for a "stock" car.
Baron, it is quite possible with an '01. You just need the right mods.
Wow, almost 400 RWHP with *very* minor bolt-ons and tuning. That's awesome. Gives hope for the rest of us.

I used the Auto Specialties pulley - no charging problems.
A/F ratio was about 12:8 - toggled rear cats codes off with LS1 Edit.
My car made 354 rwhp stock.
Made MAF changes accross the board (%) based on partial throttle AutoTap readings. Made PE vs. rpm changes between pulls on the dyno.
Used a wideband O2 sensor.
Used sh-tty 91 octane California pump gas (at lest we get 92 here in Vegas).
I DID NOT use 30# injectors - stock was good enough - in fact, before the tuning, the car was running real fat at WOT.
I bought the Corsa Titanium STREET system (daily driver). I plan on installing it this weekend or the weekend after.
I forgot to mention, I have a 160 t-stat, GM performance plug wires, and NGK TR55s gapped at 55 - don't need a fan controller any more because I used LS1 edit to turn the fans on sooner - did not want to use race gas because I don't drive around on race gas - wanted to simulate what my car makes everyday.
As for where did the dyno shop hookup the wideband O2 sensor, I did not pay attention. However, I am sure they DID NOT undo one of my O2 sensors to plug theirs in. I think they used a sniffer in the tailpipe. Even if they wanted to hook something up to an O2 bung, they could have used my rear O2 bungs because my rear O2s don't do anything - I don't have cats on the car.
As for my friend that helped me with the programming, his name is Scott Allen - he is an information systems whiz for one of the big computer companies - he also has a twin turbo kit on his LS1 Camaro. I asked him if he would mind if other people contacted him and maybe "rented" his tuning services, and he said okay. Here's his e-mail address: scott.allen@earthlink.net

Thanks for the detailed info. I'm about to install the FLPs and retune the car. We'll see how it turns out!
