I was just sitting here thinking. Is there anyway you could remove the anetnna from the car w/o having a big whole in your car?
Or be able to drive w/o your antenna be up. I personaly thihnk the car looks a lot better w/o one... it looks sportier. JMO

Thanks,

Mike

I don't see any problem with the fixed antenna. Most of the older classic Vettes have fixed antennas also.

Its a personal preference. I have a power antenna intended for the vert and plan to install as soon as I get my baby this week!

Not sure if I need the harness or just install some wires for power to it from the radio switch...need to do some more checking as soon as I get my baby this week!

Whoopee!!!

I don't mind the fix mast antenna. It is a pain when you cover the car.

Yes, but they are eaisly removed. I have not tried to use the radio w/o it, may give it a go to see if I get any stations, use the CD mostly anyway.

You know that antenna is a funny thing I don't really notice it that much, And even then it is not really offensive to me.

I installed a power antenna on my 1995 Z-28. It came off of a Trans Am of the same year. Costs about 98 bux from the GM dealer. You need to make four connections total:
1) 12volts constant
2) ground
3) signal from Delco radio (must identify exact pin)
4) RF connection
Good Luck

I punched a very small hole in my cover to allow the antenna to poke through. I used to find it very hard to install my car cover. The paint was so slick that I would put one side on and it would slide off before I could get the other side on. Now I just slip the hole over the antenna first thing and it holds the cover in place. Makes the install much easier. I think I do still have the info from someone who was selling the power antenna, I believe with the install goodies, for around $100 if you are interested.

Hermit,
I thought about doing that. Could not bring myself to cut my cover. So I just remove the antenna.
