Anyone have a photo of a 7.0L C5R block & a LS6 block?

Can you post these pics if you have them?

Thanks

There are no exterior differences between the two blocks.

So you can not tell the difference

Here you go. Don't know if you can tell the difference though by this pic.

That is a pic of a C5R block, internally the cylinders are siamesed with larger water jacket holes. if you flip the blocks over there is more webbing and thicness in the C5R block and there is superior metallurgy in the c5R block.......but externally there is no difference.

Also the LS6 has windowed bottom cylinder skirts. Most C5R's now do also but some earlier ones didn't, however those window's can be easily CNC machined in.

As a side note althought the C5R block is stronger due to the webbing and metallurgy you can actually surpass that strength on an LS6 block by adding Darton's Modular Integrated Deck System and having an either 427 LS6 or a 435 LS6. For that matter the C5R could also have the Darton Sleeves installed to increase it's strength.

Another side note: there are some maching marks on a foctory LS6 that may not be in or on a C5R block but they can be machined in. This was discussed on the LS1Tech site.
