Best Throttle Body?

Hey Yall,

I have an Halltech TRAP and LG LT Headers w/ Borla Stingers. But I feel the choke point in my set up is the stock Throttle Body (maybe MAF also) and I wish to replace it. I have heard of the 80mm BBK and the 78mm FAST both of which fit stock z06 manifold. I was wondering if the BBK with 2mm more area would be the Throttle Body to go with, after all it is bigger. However it is almost $200 cheaper than the FAST? What is everyones opinon of the best throttle body? Any help I would appreciate.

You do not need a larger throttle body, at least not with the mods you have now. If you were running larger displacement maybe, but with a stock motor it won't really help you. Get a Shaner S2 ported/polished throttle body - it won't give you much more peak hp/tq if any, but will help throttle response and you will gain some power under the curve.

Agree The shaner will raise the HP and TQ curves roughly 5 points across the whole band. To put it in prospective, a larger TB (90mm) and FAST manifold on a heads/cam car are good for roughly 10 points across the bands.

I bought mine direct (google "Shaner S2"), but I believe LG is now reselling them. Mark Shaner is a great guy to do business with.

Thanks! I just e-mailed shaner I was a little confused about the ordering and shipping procedure with the core charge and all. Is the s2 the only TB for a corvette, because I have heard about a s3?

You can send yours in for exchange or have the work done directly in it, or you can buy outright. Also look around on e-bay, thats where I picked mine up - complete unit for the cost of a exchange.

Good Luck
