Best way to get 400 rwhp?

Hey guys, whats up?

I have an 01 Z06 with a set of Stingers on, K&N airfilter, and a modified Airbox. I havent dynod my car yet, but i am guessing around 345 to the wheels, 350 if i am lucky.

Anyways, i am looking to add 50 more hp to the wheels. i would like to be at 400 to the wheels. I was wondering what is the best way i should spend my $ in order to get that kind of performance? I was looking at some Mags, and i see that a H/C package gives about 60 HP, and that should put me at about 400(maybe more) to the wheels. Thats is around $2,800. I looked and looked, and found that this was the best way to spend my money in order to get 400 rwhp. What do you guys think? do you agree with me?

Thank you.

from what ive read and seen it would be pretty hard to crack 400 rwhp without touching the cam or heads...however, much of the power difference between the 01 and 02 can be made up by doing full exhaust...like the flp system which gives u new headers and xpipe. i think one of the least expensive ways to get to 400 rwhp + would be to do full exhaust, and do a cam swap...quite a few guys on this forum have went much the same route and are at 415-430 rhwp with just that and a few other little things...

joe

p.s. ....the cams that give this type of performance gains may not be emissions legal...so u might need a friendly emissions tester.

Hey pal, i dont believe you haver the right to come on this forum and tell us we need to buy a piece of junk mustang cobra. Your car is slower than ours in a straight line, can't handle for crap, your brakes are worse than a chevy blaze, and the things is damn ugly compared to a Z. So next time, think before you make a stupid remark.

The complete engine from my car is for sale for $6500. See sig. for mods. That is good for 415 rwhp. You won't get there with your engine without h&C, sc'er, or nos, etc.

whoa guys....

i think he was just jokin with the cobra thought.....just to clear things up though, while i do think the cobra is great..good handler, easier modded, fast outta the factory, and a good looker....the simple fact that u can get to 400 rhwp for a few less dollars is no reason to buy the car....the z is better at every other aspect except for mods per dollar and like i said, if u do a cam package from a place like thunder racing along with exhaust....your going to be right up there over 400 anyway...

You prick, I was being facetious.

But if you want to be that way about it. I think any slightly modded cobra could spank a Z-06's ass. I wasn't going to go there though.
