BO-RFA info inside! my problem fixed. info for others

Okay I finally fixed my problem with the BO-RFA. For those of you who don’t know:

I installed a full system in my car two weeks ago and ran into a problem. I installed new speakers all around, an amp, and a sub. After my install, I noticed that my FOB's (remote) no longer work. I did a diag on the DIC and noticed that under BO-RFA it said "no comm". This means that the system did not read the RFA (remote function actuation). I posted a thread asking if anyone knew what was wrong or where the RFA is located and nobody knew (or at least did not post on it )

A buddy of mine at Chevy did a part location and found that the RFA is located on the left rear fender (driver’s side rear fender). I pulled the interior pieces off the driver’s side rear fender and found a small (2x2 inch) black box to the left of the rear speaker. Than I noticed that it was unplugged the plug comes out of the RFA easy! I tapped it back in so that it will never come out again!

Just in case your wondering, I most likely unplugged it (pulled it out actually) when I was installing my rear speakers. It is so easy to pull out that even when you try to put the carpet back in it will come out.

So for future reference the RFA is located on the driver’s side rear fender.

Hope this helps someone some day
