borla exhaust/h

has anyone actually installed either o both of thse mods other than jim hall, if so please describe your experience in detail, spoke to borla last week they said catback ist hundred had quality problems and were trying to catch up. Headers were given an indeterminate date for availability so if you have actually gotten your hands on these mods I would be most anxious to hear about them

I have had these mods on for 3 weeks now. My car was used as the template for the 2002 MY. I am not sure when the production headers will be out. We will be at the dyno next Friday. I will post the numbers after.

The sound is great I posted the sound files earlier. Do a search on Borla Headers and Exhaust.

I had the Borla XR1 Race Exhaust System on my Z with and without headers. I did not like the sound and/or quality and returned the unit. I now have the Corsa TI (titanium) system with with mufflers at the rear. It is awesome. The mufflers are a flute design, with a straight through pipe. Therefore, when you're cruising, it's very civilized. At WOT, my Z06 sounds like the race car it is!

Different animal.

The NEW Borla system does not use the XR1 muffler, but uses different mufflers and is called the Stinger XR system.

Several guys have this new system on and they simply LOVE it!

I'm happy for them. It's not what you do, but how it works that matters. But anyone considering a cat-back system would be wise to check out Corsa's TI System. Flow, sound, weight and quality are all superior to anything else I am aware of.

my question is whywould you bring up a corsa system when the thread is talking about the Borla kit?Unless you are doing some Page Ranking work for corsa, then there is no reason to bring them up on this thread, and say how superior they are!

Just my 2 cents

Carefully read all the posts before you put in your 2 cents worth. Qik Z06 was asking for feedback on Borla. I've had both Borla and Corsa. I would think he would appreciate the information. Why are you concerned with my comments?

Well,There is no place in the original post by qikz06 asking anything about Corsa....so,why bring it up?....he is asking if anyone has installed the new Borla options, not Corsa options...seems like a moot point to me.I would think is he was concerned about Corsa stuff,he would have asked that!

Quik,
Do a search for Stinger. Try here and over at CF.
From what I have read guys are saying this is THE system for a C5. I am going to wait until Z06 Fest so I can hear the Stinger (as this is supposed to produce 7-9 hp, where most others are less. They say this system is loud though under WOT) as well as many of the systems and combinations before I throw down any cashola!

Stangkiller - If this forum only answered the questions being asked, there would be a lot less information exchanged. I've had a Borla System (although it apparently wasn't the same one Qik Z06 asked about). I had a bad experience with it. On the other hand, the Corsa TI is exactly the system I was looking for. I thought other members might find that to be of interest. If that bothers you, just move on to the next post.
