Borla Stingers or Corsa Ti Race

I was just wondering what people thought about the borla stinger cat-back and the corsa ti race cat-back. I wanted to buy a cat-back but the corsa is kind of too much for my budget. Do the two systems sound about the same? What are the pros and cons of the two?

Thanks for any advice.

Well it depends a lot on your header system or what you have planned.

Borla is deeper sound while corsa is higher pitch.

Aside from sound which will improve with both.

The Corsa is better here's why:

1. The Cosa Ti Race System weighs less only 19#'s total from the CATS back!!!
2. It has higher flow rates than the Borla.
3. It saves space and makes room in the rear (where the mufflers are/were). You can then install both tramsmission and differential coolers in this space.
4. The Corsa is a straight through design with only bends for the over axel. The Borla has more bends and hence longer tubing over all. Remember resistance to flow is decreased by increasing the diameter which is additive but length increases resitance by the 4th power!!!. Think of the Borla as adding 4' to your tail pipe. The Corsa has better laminar flow and shorter pipes.
5. The Borla can concentrate heat in the tranny/diff area because of greater tubing (more surface area to dispell heat) and mufflers close proximity to the diff.

DJWorm...any thoughts on the Corsa Ti "Street" system? It is a bit lighter than the stock stuff isn't it?

I cannot see myself ever running with no mufflers on this particular car...but that's just me.

You were comparing a street system with mufflers to a race system that does not have mufflers. When comparing "LIKE" systems of both vendors, there isn't much difference in performance. They both offer street and race systems. The points made above don't apply when comparing the systems of the same type.

I believe both the Corsa titanium race system (no mufflers) and the Corsa titanium street system (with mufflers) weigh less than the stock system and both flow better as well.

Get the Corsa race if you want performance over quiet (although not overly loud anyway), and sell your stock Ti on Ebay for $600. I have seen several sell for this price, including my own. For pics, go to www.mikebilotti.com

MikeyB:

I have heard that the Corsa Ti is really bad when at making the LOUD POPPING sounds on deceleration. Is this true ? How can you make this sound stop ?

Everyone:

Also I have heard that you can not install the LG headers with the Corsa Ti system. Why is this ?
I hear that the LG headers are the best out there. They also come with Reason high flow cats.

Thanks
