BPP Shifter

I have installed my Breathless Performance shifter but its is fairly obvious that the stock rubber seal under the boot will not fit over top of the new shifter. Has anyone cut the stock rubber seal to fit the larger aftermarket shifters? And does anyone know how much GM charges for a new replacement.

Thanks Dean

Zeanster, I haven't installed my new shifter yet, but I will let you know as soon as I do. Although the shifter is a very easy installation, I am having my GM Mechanic (forum member Vettemaster) install mine.

How do you like the shifter?? Did you use the pre-installed springs or the stiffer springs that were provided??

I'm really excited about installing this shifter!! It's sweeeeeeet looking!! Now if I can just get my mechanic over here!! I've got lots of work for him coming up!!

I have to hide my mods, Sherylann is costing me a small fortune!! Now she wants some headers!! I don't think she even knows what headers are!! She probably thinks its something out of a dirty magazine!!

It is supposed to have the light stock springs installed, but they seem pretty hard. They are fine for 5-6 but with 1st you have to pull towards yourself and I find that they are over powered for 1-2. They are definately too strong for my wife, it takes everything that she has to pull it over for 1-2. I am wondering if they are actually the stiff springs and that I have two sets of stiff ( they look the same). I will be checking that this weekend and if so I will source some new lighter springs at least for the 1-2 side.

Otherwise I haven't used any other type of shifter and only have 75km on the car, but it seems very precise and definately reduces the stroke by a substantial amount.

PS I have the same problem my wife wants wheels and tires for her S2000, for that much money I would be halfway to a SC.
