Brake cooling ducts and C5 Z06?

I have an 03 Z06 with the stock brakes. I am considering adding a brake cooling kit such as DRM's offering. However, I have 18'' x 11" CCW wheels with 275 Toyo RA1s in the front for the track. So I am concerned about having room to do so.

Does anybody have any experience or advice with adding cooling ducts when you've got significantly wider wheels than stock?

I have the rear Z06 18x10.5 on the front with 285/30(track) and 285/35(street) tires. The brake ducts will rub at full lock. I positioned them as well as possible and there just isn't enough room for the ducts without some contact. Even though it does rub, it only affects you at full lock when parking. My solution, don't use full lock when making a U-turn or parking. It is well worth the trade off in turning radius to have your brakes work well when pressed hard.

I can't use full lock with 9.5" stock wheels up front. Both sides hit, one more so than the other. DRM told me that this isn't uncommon.

I recommend the front brake duct extensions from Doug Rippie coupled with either the LG Motosports Spindel duct or Phoenix Racing Spindel duct.

If after mounting the ducts you detect a rub at full lock you can then modify for more clearance by using a heat gun to reshape the ducts.
