Broken Side Mirror

Some idiot in my apartment complex must have bumped into my driver's side mirror saturday night. It's still in one piece, but it twists without resistance (like if you were to swing it in while parallel parking, it is doing that every time I accelerate, brake, turn, etc). For now I've got some "handyman's tool" duct tape holding it steady. I know I've seen other people on here with broken mirrors, but I can't find the threads. How did you fix it?

I looked at the parts list and it shows the mirror body, the mirror itself and the electric motor for remote movement. If you can't fix it you will have to do the whole thing I would guess. It only comes with a "paint to match" code so you would not be able to order a white one
Else you might consider epoxy if you can in a out of sight location. List price looks like $125.00 then the paint cost

The motor still works and you can't see any damage... hopefully there is a cheap fix. I think it could be glued/bolted into place. I wouldn't be able to fold it in anymore, but I never did that anyway.

Oh yeah, Ed- this Saturday, think we could wire in my foglights after lowering? I forgot I still have those sitting around somewhere.

Sure on the fog lights. Do you have all the required items especially the mounting brackets? Are these the PIAAs ?

Yep, they're the PIAAs. I'm looking into what is needed now. I'm not sure if new mounting brackets are required since I already have stock foglights.

If you have the stock that is all you need for that is is only a issue with Z06's that don't have them. The rest of the stuff that you need is in the PIAA kit.

mine broke(only the actual mirror not the housing) when i hit a vulture at speed. i just took it off and put on a new one. untill i replaced it, it flapped around like you are describing. make sure the actual mirror is still attached to the adjustment screws. maybe it just got knocked off. good luck.
