If it's only smell its probably OK.

But if the clutch pedal starts sticking to the floor when hot.....that's another story.

If you were smelling clutch you hurt the clutch. Look at it this way. On most cars the weakest link is the tires to protect your drivetrain. You smoked the tires in first then threw all that rotating power against second. For all I know you might have had been slipping the clutch through first but, in-any-event ,the tires hooked and your last line of defense kicked in before damage resulted or, the clutch burnt some. It's ok to burn a clutch sometimes but when you do the heat is awful. Do it enough and this heat will warp, blue, basically screw up, your whole clutch assembly instead of just wearing the disk out. Many people tell me the clutch is poor on the 06. Maybe your just ready for a new one? Mike

I smoked my clutch one weekend afternoon, practicing a burnout for the strip in a empty parking lot. I forgot to engage the Competitive Driving Mode.

The smell eventually went away three days later, but once a clutch gets that hot, it more than likely will warp the fingers, a weak point IMO. Also the Clutch Disc Plate will tend to loose it roughness and smooth out, eventually leaving you with a ruptured seal allowing air into the system (sticking clutch pedal) or a clutch pedals that slips (no crisp engaging point).

At the present time there is no need to worry, just know, depending on how hot it got, you may have an issue later down the road. Good Luck!

Ohh yeah...if you have clutch work done under warranty, they will charge you seperate to remove aftermarket headers to remove the bellhousing.
