C5-R Paint Job leads to this: Don't Open If You Don't Have Tolerance for Custom Paint

Watching the C5-R win at Daytona in 2001 may have led me to this:

Will somebody unplug this guys TV. Just kidding, as long as you like it is all that counts. I am a vanilla kind of guy, I couldn't even do red (mine is all black). Definetly different. Do you have the mod red interior also?

I like it!

The curves that are generated by the two tones in the back 1/4 shots is very nice. The darker color on top makes it look lower also. Very tasteful IMHO.

Thanks guys. I got my gumption up when my best friend had a fantastic $5000 paint job done on his. His name is Mike Coppola (I believe he is a member here) and his car is going to be on the cover of the July Issue of Vette Magazine! The July issue comes out in May, I don't want to ruin the surprize, but it is worth looking for!

I like it! Now you need the side exhaust

I'm wondering how I get a poster of that C5-R shot though...

I love the black roof. Been wanting to do that to my car since I got it. Reminds me of the 1993? special edition Vettes that were white with all white interior, including steering wheel, with the roof painted black. Extremely sharp looking at the time and looks great on the Z06 as well! I agree, gives the car a very low and mean looking stance.

Thanks for the pic, I think I'll do it now after seeing someone else pioneer the idea.

Chad

Great idea, now the oil won't show up all over the back.

I believe that was the 35th Anniversary Corvette, which would make it 1988. It definitely made you take notice! Good luck - Make it how you like it!
