In Car Video from LG Motorsports/ Infineon World Challenge

Hi guys,

It has been a while since I have been over on this site. Just thought that this in car video would be a good view. After this race, I went on to win at Utah then the extra weight was added. Nice.

Finally have the Infineon WC video up. http://www.lgmracing.com/lgm-0605-infineon.wmv

This was the first race with the new 12.5% tighter restrictor and -300 revs.

There is not much full throttle at Infineon so the restrictor didn't hurt much. The new rev limit was more annoying trying to get use to where to shift by ear. So I hit the rev limiter many times.
On the last lap, my team mate, Claudio Burtin, who was in 10th place, lifted to let me pass just before the finish line so I could get the one extra point. If it comes down to one point, I will owe him big time

I think it was lap 21 or 22 where I got the fastest lap of the race. ALso, this track is the worst track for Gas mileage. Guess why. Because we have no time in 5th gear, and only two times even in 4th gear. So that demonstrates how little the hp matters, and thus how little the restrictor plate matters.

So guess which track is the best on Gas mileage? Road America because we are in top gear so long that the mileage goes up. ANd the effect of the restrictor will be just that much more than Sears and Utah.

At any rate, this was the track where I got the black flag for letting the Viper chop me off and spin me.

Enjoy.

Oh, now imagine adding 190 pounds to my car and just wonder how it will be. This is what happens when someone uses "simulations" rather than real time video and just plain watching the race. ( the rules makers have added 150 pounds plus 40 pounds of rewards weight for the next race at Road America)

Thanks

Lou gigliotti LGM

Very sweet video, thanks for posting the link up!!
Great racing by the way-catcing up all those positions after getting spun out and the stop and go, looks like it took a lot of patience getting stuck in the slower traffic.

Awesome video. To come back after a spin out and a stop and go is truly commendable. Great job.

Thanks guys,

See you at the next race at Road America on the 19th.

I have bought stock in the local lead smelter. Looks like we will need it. Almost 600 pounds for 3 cars

Thanks

the penalty was not necessary as the viper turned in on you. it's not like you gained position anyway.....and why is this under the c5 section?

sounded like you had traction control on your vette...do all the WC vettes have traction control or is this an option. the transmission you're running...is that the stock z06 transmission with dog ring gears and ignition cut or is it a purpose built transmission?

You are welcomed.

The transmission is a normal syncro transmission that I have to use the clutch for every up and down shift.

We massage it but it is essentially a stock box with GM racing ratios inside. But other than the ratios it is a stock box.

Traction control is legal on all cars. We do not use the GM TC because it is too severe. We just need a small amount of TC.

At Utah it failed but is didn't make any difference.

that track looks tough, seems impossible to pass anywhere. How are you gonna add 190 lbs?
