Changing Tire Size....what happens to TCS and ABS?
I have spoken to a few people who have aftermarket rims and posed this question. Do you need to change anything in the computer when you change the tire size? Obviously the speedo would be off, but if nothing is changed will it affect the TCS and ABS?
I've been curious about this topic as well. I bought my '02Z used and it has 18's on the front vs. the stock 17's (same 265X35 series though).
Torque mgmt (I think) kicks in (even in Comp mode) at 6,000 rpm on the 2-3 shift. The rpms just go south. I never get near red line so this is odd.
I have also hit 119 at the top end of 3rd on the highway and then the "shift" indicator comes on in the HUD. Also very odd as I think mathematically I should only be able to hit 112-113 w/ stock gearing.
Would the 18's in the front make a difference?

Click my sig, scroll to the bottom of the new window, click the Tire Size spreadsheet link. Enter your tire sizes, it'll tell you if you're likely to have a problem or not...
