check gauge + 11 gal. = full tank ?

thought I was out of gas but only 11 gallons later I'm spilling fuel, what went wrong?
seat rocks, column lock, trunk release, exhaust jingle, fuel gauge, what else did I forget? I want to bring it in and have them all done at once and don't want to forget anything.

The upper portion of the seat rocking is intentional according to the owners video. I didnt' get the column lock recall done, as its not a problem for me. The trunk release, thats funny....I took mine in to get fixed, 30 minutes and 40 bucks later it was "fixed". Aforementioned "fix" lasted a week, so I took it back...they then said "well all the C5s trunks don't open very far" needless to say I demanded my money back for "fixing" something that "wasn't broken" and got it back. Which reminds me I need to cash that check! I too have the fuel gauge issue, presently I do what some of the other forum members suggested, I reset one of my trip odometers as a sort of backup fuel measurement device!

Didn't quite get all of the fuel tank issue, but if you are running an empty tank and check gauges, you are probably having what I just experienced last week. Turned out to be bad gas, after some reading, found that if the sulphur content in the gas mix is too high, it will mess with the fuel tank sensor. I filled it up again at another station, and 2 days later when I fired up the car, everything went back to normal, and has stayed that way so far. I drove it around the first time, to burn down the tank a bit so I could put a measureable amount back in it to cure the problem.

On the fuel sensor issue - a lot of us use Red Line or Techron fuel system cleaner regularly. Personally, I use a few ounces avery tank. My gage is now regular. It must be fiber for the fuel system.

Fuel problem comes from high sulfur content in fuel.

Chevron fuel is the best. Chevron tech fuel system cleaner is about 10 bucks but it does the job!!!

I use Chevron exclusively and add a can of Techron fuel system cleaner after each oil change. I still had issues with my guage and they changed the right module a few weeks ago. The service writer said it's not just Corvettes that have this problem.
